Could you live without your mobile phone or computer 
We use to .... do you remember... I do !! ...
How did we cope ....

Pro I need my mobile for work contacts while out and about
.. but I rarely use it for monalogue conversations as do
others on London transport... it drives me mad 
and you still see car users on a cell phone 
I, like you, use it for necessity...
My lap top I got because I felt I needed to have better
communication links regarding work and regards the world
today and how it works... I too use it for pleasure!!
It is helping me to at present put out my CV
and I have had a few interesting offers I am looking into

I agree..there are people who are slaves to the mobile phone...and to their PC....One might even say..addicted to....Could cause all sorts of relational problems....

Pro they should have a mobile attached to their ear
perminantly... as it is there more then not ...
How dangerous too... gone are the days when you nipped in to the telephone box and looked for change..
I lived in my telephone box as a teenager... did not even
have a home phone then.... still it was healthy...
I was out more then in.... fun carefree times too 
I must admit Bushka the internet has a very false veil
regarding relationships and one should learn from this
If having experience of such matters... but when addicted
one can not see the errors!! the addiction is the problem.

I use my cell phone rarely. We get no signal in the house. I really can live quite nicely without it. As far as the computer, there are days I wish I'd never ventured on the internet.

I do feel balance is needed for the good side regarding
how it helps us.
Social networking is for communicating in a proactive
manner I feel!!
I use my cell phone mainly for necessity and work!!

With cell phone as with Notebook it's fact that they have a necessity status today as had TV 30 years ago. It's become so fundamental that companies, societies, clubs,you name it, base their information and installations and aid on it. Even if you use them only for necessities, you should have them .

Business and industry depend on it... because we are
always moving with technology... because we feel we must!!
Is that freedom of choice ???
Why should we have them... Only recently I got my laptop
...almost 14 months now.... before that I still survived ???
but life did thrive before technology.... we seem to
forget this now...
No dispute to the fact they are a wonderful asset,
being wise to the pros and cons.

I could definitely live without my mobile phone. I hardly ever use it, and only keep it for emergencies.
I bought my 'pay as you go phone' eight years ago, and £10 will sometimes last me three or four weeks!!!!
I could live without a computer, but would prefer not to.
I love e mail, (because it means I don't have to speak to people on the phone) and clearly I enjoy blogging and all sorts of other aspects of having 'this little magic box' at my disposal
I remember full well not having mobile phones, computers etc, I also remember not having a tv til I was eight years old, and that when I moved to the States in 1966 there were no phone satelites...so to make a call to europe, cost an arm and a leg - you usually had to book it, and when you did get through, it was sometimes hard to hear the person on the other end.....Now my daughter in the US and I talk via SKYPE, and it's as if we are in the same room together, and it's FREE.

If i was given the choice between going to bed with Kate Winslet or waking up in a world with no mobile phones id take the latter every time. I feel like throwing mine in a bucket of acid sometimes!!!
As for the computer/IT/techno overload. Well, the tools and technology is fantastic, the problems seem to stem from the way we use them!

Ha ha ha. I always feel the world was a better place before the advent of the mobile phone and texting. Texting in particular seems to have created so many social problems in the world.

but the art of true socialisation is lost within
this cyber world so many people hide behind!!
sadly people do develope non realistic relationships on these gagets... often resulting in a detrimental disaster !! which usually is the downside!!
I rarely use my mobile ... mainly for work contacts.
Texting is the cause of bad spelling too...
Mine is bad already without making it worse

Ha ha haha. I actually make a big effort with texting spelling and punctuation. If you dont then nobody can understand my messages! Especially after mucho pintage!

Well, it would be easy to say they are just plonkers. However, they are the ones who need help the most. They seek it out in faceless ways, that never solves the problems, only makes them worse!
Ive seen it, not in myself, but in someone else. Whats the point in accruing an army of phony friends and hangers on.
